More Than a Business: How Creative World Owners Impact Lives
August 4, 2025A Flexible Career: Why Owning a Preschool Offers More Than You Think
August 18, 2025When you’re raising a family, starting a business might seem like a far-off dream—something for “someday.” But for many parents, especially those with young children, there comes a moment when you start thinking about how your work and your home life could actually support each other. That’s where Creative World comes in.
Many of our preschool franchise owners are parents. Some are grandparents. Others are couples looking to create something lasting for their family and community. What they all have in common is the desire to own a business that fits into real life. And we get that. We’ve built our systems to help make that possible.
Since 1970, we’ve been building something that allows people to connect their work with their values. When families join our franchise system, they aren’t just starting a business. They’re becoming part of something that’s been rooted in family from the very beginning.
A Preschool Franchise Schedule That Works with Family Life
One of the biggest reasons parents choose us is the schedule. Our schools are open during the day on weekdays. That’s it. Evenings, weekends, and holidays are off. That means you can run a business and still be home for dinner, soccer games, or bedtime stories.
You don’t need to be in the school all day every day, either. You’ll have a director and assistant director handling daily operations. Your job is to support the team, stay connected to the business, and lead from a higher level. It gives you the freedom to stay involved without being stretched too thin.
It’s not just about convenience. Having a predictable, family-friendly schedule makes it easier to manage everything else going on in your life—school drop-offs, errands, family time, even just taking a moment to breathe. That kind of consistency is hard to find in other industries like food service, retail, or hospitality, where nights and weekends are a given.
A Simple Royalty System That Gives You Time to Grow
We know starting a new business is a big deal, especially when you have a family depending on you. That’s why we set up our royalty system to help you ease into ownership. In year one, you’ll pay 5%. In year two, it goes to 6%. Starting in year three, it stays at 7%.
We’ve also added another layer of support that makes a real difference early on. You won’t pay any royalties until your school reaches 75 paying students. This gives you time to focus on building a strong foundation without the added pressure of fees right away.
The early stage of any business is a learning curve. Our structure gives you a softer landing. You have time to get your staff in place, learn the systems, meet the families in your community, and grow at a pace that’s manageable. It’s a financial cushion that helps our owners start strong and stay steady.
Working with Family Without Mixing It All Together
Many of our franchisees run their school with a spouse, a parent, or another relative. Some partner with grandparents or siblings to open a school close to home. We love that. It’s a great way to share responsibilities and build something meaningful together. But we also know it works best when there’s structure. If you’ve ever worked with family before, you know how easy it is to let work conversations creep into dinner or weekends. That’s why we spend time during onboarding talking through what roles make sense and how to separate business life from home life.
Some families divide tasks. One person handles staffing and hiring while the other focuses on finances or marketing. Others take turns being on-site. It doesn’t have to look one way. What matters is that you’re all on the same page. We’re here to help make that happen and keep those lines clear.
Why Owners Feel at Home with Creative World
Creative World School has been around since 1970. We’re still family-owned and operated today, and we’ve never had a school close because the business didn’t work. That’s something we’re proud of. We’ve created a model that lasts and one that people can count on.
Many of our franchisees started out as parents looking for a high-quality preschool for their own children. After finding us, they realized they wanted to do more than enroll. They wanted to open a school in their own community. That story is more common than you’d think.
We support our owners with training, marketing, operations, and ongoing guidance. But what really makes it work is the connection people feel to the mission. They’re not just building income. They’re building something meaningful. And they’re doing it in a way that lets them stay connected to their family life at the same time.
